How to get assistance

For electronic data collection

One of the challenges facing the African Union if it is to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030) and the long-term objectives (Agenda 2063: the Africa we want) is to promote a culture of evidence-based public policy and decision-making. In this context, it is essential to invest in and strengthen the national capacities of statistical institutes and to promote the implementation of geo-spatial information systems for the collection, analysis, production and dissemination of data in order to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of these policies. In this sense, the Census Reference Centres with Electronic Data Collection in Africa project can play a fundamental role, through training and the exchange of Brazilian experience and knowledge, in the development of statistical institutes in Africa.

The Government of Brazil, through the Brazilian Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ABC/ MRE) and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE); the Government of Cape Verde, through the National Institute of Statistics of Cape Verde (INECV); the Government of Senegal, through the National Agency of Statistics and Demography of Senegal (ANSD); and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) are committed to supporting requesting countries for assistance with data collection.
